my betta is stressed out

This betta of mine is awful he is stressed out for some reason my water is all ok ezcept for the nitrites and nitrates they are a little high but not enough to bother the rest of the fish should I take him out of that water and put him in a bowl with a airstone until I can get the levels down and put him in betta max it isnt a emergency at the time being but it will be if I cant get him lined out can someone tell me what to do.

laying at the bottom or the tank and hiding from me you just got to be around this betta to know this isnt him at all he is always lurking at the top of the tank to make sure i see him he is a show off and now its like he dont care if you are looking or not.
