Alright, so i was able to get another grow out tank! So this is my 75 gallon tank, and its holding all my baby bichirs and ropefish, a syondontis hybrid, a L114, a elephant nose fish, 4 angelfish and and 4 baby pictus cats getting about 8-12 more later, dont want them stealing everyone's food atm. IMO they are meant to be the only bottom feeders in the tank. I was a bit worried about the difference in water chemistry from my dads well water to my moms city water, but everyone seems to be doing well. Alright so here the tank! O btw it was cycled by adding 2 filter pads from an established tank, and watching parameters.

So im filtering it with this, its very quiet and works for me haha

Heres it getting filled up, it was very annoying with that hose, it wasnt spraying where i wanted it to, and well it was just a pain haha. the tank got rearranged and has a lot more hiding places now :)

After and hour of trying to catch these darn fish, they eventually all got caught.

More photos later!

The teugs lost a lot of color, more grayish now, at first i though it was stress from moving but now i think its due to the substrate.

I told you dark substrate brings out their colors :p Very adorable pics!

Thanks and yea yea i know just its a lot cheaper to get one 50lb bag of pool filter sand haha i had to go to 3 different pool stores to get the sand though :p

Heres my angels, i got all striped viels, you know because i dont like the others

Believe it or not these are different angels, maybe twins? I hope they dont pair up lol

There is cheap black sand too, black diamond blasting sand. Pretty little angels!

I dont know where to find that sand around me, its not at lowes or home depot, and we dont have many tractor stores down in florida.

I use the blasting sand as well. I got a 50lbs bag or 6.00 at my local tractor supply. :) Plus my dog got to go with me to pick it up. Your tank is looking really nice!

Yea atti i would do that if i could haha, but not many tractor supply stores here unfortunately. Alright so heres my pictus cats, really love them, they never stop moving and i only have 4 atm! Imagine a school of 12-20!!!

They are certainly total pigs, probably because they came from petsmart, right when i put food in the tank BOOM they ate as much as possible haha still lovin them. When all my grow outs get out of this tank then they will definitely have a huge school.

Pictus cats are totally adorable. I really want some, but I don't think they work well with any of my future big tank ideas (angel tank with corys and hatchets and discus tank with rummynose tetras and a horde of corys, plus BN plecos). Really though, if you want some of my blasting sand, I have like thirty pounds left. I could pick up a few bags of it from the store if you let me watch all your oddballs~ Florida isn't too far away from Mississippi, after all. So long as you don't live in Miami. Haha!

Thanks so much for the offer, but i wouldnt do that to you, anyways my oddball tanks arent that awesome

and i have 2 seperate houses so we would have to make a field trip about it haha

Heres 5 last photos that i have...

This is my polypterus palmas buet...

Peacock eel!

One of my nandus nebulous which seem to be very stressed.

My polypterus delhezi.

And lastly one of the ropes. Shes just gorgeous isnt she!

Lovely pics as always. What is the temperature in the tank? Water parameters?

Tank is 78-79 degrees Fahrenheit and the water is all 0 for now, hopefully it wont randomly spike, the heateri think was boiling the water at one point when it was set to 80 degrees but i didnt have a thermometer at the time so i just turned the heater down to 76.

Ah okay. I was curious as my eels seem to only bury themselves when stressed like you say, and the only times I've seen that happen is when it got too warm. This was at like 83F though.
Heaters in that tank aren't even on it's just been so hot lately >_< I hope everyone settles in soon :)

My eels have been like this forever, sadly i guess i just dont have much luck with eels, even my gymnothorax arent coming out to eat like they should be. :/

Are you putting food in their caves?
