1. Is clover that they sell for the tank the same as the one that grows in the yard?
Probably, I recall that it grows submerged or emerged, and some differ slightly in the look they take on when submerged.
2. If plants take in co2 and put out oxygen to grow... how can they live and not pearl?
Because pearling is when a plant gets loads of light, they will give off oxygen when they are not pearling but this will be such a small amount that bubbles never form.
3. If we don't see bubbles does that mean they are not putting out any oxygen at all?
Nope, just not as much.
4. Can they pearl with out high light?
I doubt it.
5. If they don't pearl, does that mean they aren't healthy or happy? (I have some that are growing like crazy, but there have been no bubbles.)
Nope, but in high light tanks it is a good sign. If your plants are growing fast and look healthy then they most likely are! Many plants have different light level requirements.
6. What makes them pearl?
Photosynthesis.
7. Is the limbs from holly shrubs safe for the aquarium? (the kind that puts out those red berries)
I have no idea, I'd be tempted to say no, but there is only one way to find out if no-one else has ever tried it!
