Moving A Couple Of Nems

have 2 that are on the wrong side of the tank.. as the flow is too much for them.. the ones on the less active side are happy as larry.

i need to move them but not sure how, they are otherwise healthy in that they are eating and water is great
have tried to fiddle with the power head but the rock is preventing me doing much,terrified it will all fall over so its a move for them im afraid ( if possible that is)

nems usually move if they want to.

If you do it yourself, massage the foot very gently untiil it lets go between a finger and your thumb, dont just pull it off. A damaged foot = soon to be dead nem.

great cheers ill give it a go a bit later.. when ive worked up the nerve to touch it ( one got stuck to me last time and i thought it was going to eat me )

Shelagh, aim the powerhead directly at them, they will move then as they don't like the flow

What sort of nems are they Shelagh as they look like two different species, this can sometimes be a problem, but obviously in your case they are not waring as they are opening and you say they are happy and healthy

My advise is totally different..remove them and take them back to a rockpool,lol...those are beadlet anemones, sold all over fleabay now, a british native.

They will live short term at our temps in a tank, slowly die back and potentially bud dozens of little stinging babies around the tank..

Sorry for this advise but it may be for the best in the long run

Yes, I thought at least one of them was a beadlet, but was waiting for Shelagh to confirm species

ps I would agree with Bud, they need lower temp. then our marine tanks run at, they will also split like there is no tomorrow and your tank will be over-run with them
