Went to the LFS today....don't panic just buying more dechlorantor for my fish in cycle water changes...

and I noticed moss balls and was watching the fish nibble them....

Good idea.....bad idea

if you like the look of them then they will do no harm to your tank. Make a nice little living ornament to the foreground.

wow, I was wondering about them as well. I seen some at my LFS, but the lady said that they were broken and werent any good to sell.

Are they marimo moss balls or some type of moss/plant wrapped around a cork or ball?

With the marimo moss balls the fish do peck at them and does create a little extra maintenance work to clear them from the filter sponge - but thats minor compared to the visual impact of the balls in the tank. Love them!

I have had two for a year. With moss growth, one sort of fell apart and started looking mangy. I threw it out recently.
