Hi folks,

I am always looking for new music or different music to listen to as I get bored with the same old stuff everyday.

I found this gem on youtube" cool tune (its the song on the new anchor butter advert lol) and want to find more music like it but I dont know what to type in, I have found other patti drew tunes but not may of them have the same beat or sound as this (one was called "beggar for the blues"). Etta James I also found but not may of her tunes seem as up beat. If any one knows any other good tunes that are similar or have the same sound I would be grateful. I know it was otis redding originally which is also a good version, but I prefer patti's voice.

I kind of thought some of james brown's tunes were similar...

get down with the funk brothers and sisters... lol.

cheers chish

Try searching for 60`s Soul or 60`s Motown :/

Hiya Elise,

yeah I have tried that but it takes a while, I just wondered if anyone had some good tunes to share that were similar.

"Got To Give It Up" is a 1977 hit single recorded by American soul music legend Marvin Gaye. The song held the number one position on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for one week, from June 18, 1977 to June 25. On the R&B Singles Charts it held the number one spot for five weeks. On the disco charts the single was also a number one hit. The song, solely written by Gaye and produced by Art Stewart, is about a man who was too shy to get on the floor and dance. But the groove allows him to lose himself in the music and dance, connecting with the people around him. Initially "Got To Give It Up" in its 11-minutes-plus version was included as the final side of his 1977 double-album live collection, "Live At The London Palladium".
