I'm wondering what the dominant traits are when breeding mollies. Is there a more dominant color, fin shape, etc? Like how brown eyes are dominant in humans. What can I expect from offspring and which are the most desirable offspring to keep for future breeding? Thanks!

Black and silver is the strongest trates until you go back to the wild form.

Cross any of the fancy's with these and your end up with mainly black/silver/wild colour forms
But the from all batches of fry you'll get a mixture, just gold/dalmation and others will be few and far between.

However cross the same line's and your end up with that line, with the odd through back.

What do you mean by "wild forms"? What would that look like? I know there are no black mollies in the wild, but what else? Do you just mean color, or shape as well? Thanks!

Thank you for the picture. It really helps. My first batch of fry were from a marble molly. I was only able to save 6 of them. One of the babies is marbled, but the other five are sort of a pale beige irridescent color. She had these babies a few days after I bought her, so I'm not sure what the father was like at all, but they do seem to be closer in coloring to your picture of the wild molly than to their mother. My gold dust molly is pregnant and I can't wait to see what kind of babies I get from her. Thanks for your help.
