hey..

I bought some rocks from the LFS the other day and put them in my tank.

And recently I bought some more of the same kind today. They came dry with some dirt/mud/whatever else on the rocks. SO when I was cleaning them I noticed there was some mold or something on the rocks. I really don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's not harmful if the LFS sold it. Plus it was dry for quite some time.. so I'm assuming IF it was bad it's probably quarantined.

Just looking for some advice about this stuff and any precautions I should take.. if any.

Thanks.

How long were they dry for? Some rock, such as lace rock, is harvested from mines and other mountainous locations. It is covered in "land algae", better known as lichen. I do not know what this will do to the tank, it cant be too bad though.

You dont quarantine dry rock, i do not know what you are talking about here. If you are afraid, just wash it really well. And if your tank has chemical filtration, it should take care of any small amount of poison.
However, do not always trust your LFS. Some of them should not be.
