Hey all, I am going planted in my tank but whilst it is cycling I am just looking for some really pretty plants to act as the scenery. I went to P@H just to have a look around, see what pretty guppy colours there are and I saw this amazing tree in their tanks so asked to look at it more.

They took it out the tank and I had never seen anything like that before so decided to buy it, impulse buy :D

What do you think?

its a stick with plants tied to it. looks like anubis or whatever its called.

Yeah, a stick with some Anubias on it; it's a nice one though; if you like it, then that's all that matters :)

Nice, I like tree scapes, I'd add some more Anubias to it to cover the branches that have been sawed off then it will look more natural. :)

That's a good idea, I think I have a spare Anubias plant in a bucket of water somewhere so will attach that on. Do I just use some string like cotton which people sew with? Or is there anything better to attach plants to wood?

superglue - eaiser and lasts longer. Just make sure the only ingredient is cyanoacrylate - it's safe for aquariums

Well I'm going to a specialist aquarium shop tomorrow so hopefully they will have some there :) But I'll take note of the ingredient and make sure before I buy, thank you Zoddy.

any superglue is fine. I use gel stuff these days as it doesn't run. If it runs you will have a nice white line down the branch :)

Tesco own brand gel superglue is £1.99. Loctite is fine though :) or if you can only find the runny stuff I buy those packs for £1 from poundland or tescos that have 10 tiny superglues on a piece of card. They are quite cool because with the larger tubes it's sods law that the lid is stuck fast when you want to use it again. lol

If your idea is to give a bonsai look to your fish tank you might want to take a look at this fish tank

check this one

check the one called syrah

Oh wow those links are amazing!! I love the first one, such a tranquil theme to a fish tank.

I read what he used and this is one plant that caught my eye: Eleocharis parvula

But I am wondering where I can buy it from? I have gone to around 4 aquatic stores today and haven't found any of it.

Surprised you havenn't seen any in 4 stores - it is quite common. It's common name is Dwarf Hairgrass.

If you cant find it in the shops, there are plenty of places you can buy it on line.

P.S believe me if he can find it in portugal (thats were those photos are from) you can definitely find it here in england.

Is Java Aquatic Plants not a good website? I just read the reviews and they are mixed, some saying they are bad, some raving about them. They seem to be cheaper than Green Machine but I am wondering whether the more you pay the better quality the plants will be?

Just Java are selling Dwarf Hair Grass, 25 plants for like £7 and Green Machine is £5.99 for one pot.

Confused
