Morning everyone!

After toying with the idea for a while (and getting a bonus from work! H'Zarr!! :D ) I've bought a Juwel Rio 240 which is a fair bit bigger than my Tropiquarium 68 and should do nicely for the next 2 years or so. After a bout of NTD (http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=130173) I'm doing everything from scratch.

I was given the T68 with fish, water, gravel, filters et all.. so I'm new to this stage of the process.

I've decided that I'm going to make this into a planted tank too so I've bought a bag of Laterite and thats mixed in with the bag of fine gravel to a depth of 1" at the back and about 2/3" at the front. I'm using the standard 2x35W lights that came with it (beauty light and daylight)(reflectors to buy next) and the standard internal filter with Black Sponge and Nitrate Removal Sponge. One of the other members on here has a (jimbooo) great tank but I won't want that many plants.

I'll probably move my Turbo CO2 system across too, but will that be enough for a bigger tank like this, or would anyone suggest anything else?

All the plants I've ever had in my T68 have gone brown and died in a matter of weeks and I don't want the same thing to happen here. Been better in the last month though, not sure whats going on, but I'm thinking it might be to do with algae. I was sold two Albino Algage Eaters (shold have read here first!!) in the hope that they'd start easting my black algae (should have got a fox!), they haven't but they have cleaned it up but the rest of the tank is gleaming! :)

I've read new tank syndrome and how to do a fishless cycle so I'm off to homebase to buy some ammonia.

Anything else I should put on my shopping list?!

Cheers everyone!!

Sven

Since my last post I've been out, bought some disposable plants, couple of orniments and bit of gravel. I've JUST finished filling it up and now and powered it all up.

Looks sweet!

Once I've arranged it like I want I'll be putting up another pic. Can't wait to put my fish over into it!!

Excellent, I wish I had a stand.

It came with it.

Including all the bits (gravel, reflectors and the like) its cost £450 (or so)

I'd recommend the shop to anyone!

For eveyone interested: here is the link Sond does get anoying though.
