Middle To Top Dwelling Tanganyika Cichlid

Could anyone recommend any top dwelling cichlids ?

Its a 125 ltr tank and the middle - top section is empty so looking for something (maybe a pair) to occupy this section.

any ideas?

C.Leptosoma usually fill that niche in a tang set up but need a tank around 4 foot in length,whats the dimensions of your tank?

size is 80cm x 36cm x 50cm

its a shame as the whole middle - top of the tank is empty

Most cichlids in general tend to dwell on the bottom, honestly. The cyprichromis are the only ones from tanganyika I can think of who mid to top dwell, but as said, they need a 48 inch tank, your tank is too small for them. Maybe somebody can find something, though. I'm just not sure what.

It depends if you want to stick strictly to tanganyikans,I know some people use Australian rainbows to fill in the top water column,it really depends on you, if you want to keep it strictly tang,if not any trop that likes hard water,going back to the rainbows there ia a dwarf rainbow M.Praecox,only grow to about 2",but I dont know what availability is like
