Hi guys and gals,

I just added a pair of hairy green metalic mushrooms to my tank. They arrived this morning in the mail at 10.40am. I drip aclimatized them for about 2 hours before adding them to the tank. I now have 3 bits of brown, stringy slime floating about the tank which the mushroom excreted. It also has lots of stringy, pink, fleshy bits at the base and the smell is a bit weird.

Is everything ok? Is the coral just in a bad mood where its been transported or is it going to disintergrate and potentially nuke my tank? I was planning on doing a water change soon anyway. Would now be a good time to do it or should I wait for the mushy to calm down first?

Here's a picture of it

It's pucking its guts out, so to speak, think they are called something like mesenterial filaments.

It is likely due to acclimation issues and the stress this causes - it wont nuke your tank and should right itself if left alone :good:

ps would you do me a wee favour and add your experience to the coral of the week - thread for Ricordias etc

My Hairy mushroom did the same when I first addded but it is now fine and thriving now :)
