Hi all
I have a juwel Rio 450 151x51x66 and was curious as to home much to overpack? Iā€™m planning on keeping mbuna and peacocks.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi I'm pretty new to Malawi too, dont have the tank ready like you but been reading quite a bit so thought I'd share somthing I've found interesting.

https://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/features/the-mbuna-keepers-survival-guide/

This has been useful especially these lists -

Large aggressive species

These fish are best avoided by the novice mbuna keeper:
Metriaclima crabro.
Metriaclima lombardoi.
Melanochromis auratus.
Metriaclima greshakei.
Pseudotropheus socolofi.
Labeotropheus fuelleborni.

Smaller, less aggressive species

Try these instead:
Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos.
Labidochromis perlmutt.
Pseudotropheus perspicax.
Pseudotropheus acei.
Melanochromis joanjohnsonae.
Labidochromis caeruleus.
Labidochromis freibergi.
Melanochromis dialeptos.
Pseudotropheus livingstonii.
Tropheops chilumba.

From what I've read I think mixing Mbuna and Peacocks generally isnt recommended Mbuna are more aggressive on average. There do seem to be a couple of species that people do mix like Yellow Labs but wouldnt feel confidenct recommending others as I dont know enough yet.
