Here’s a pic of the “real” Deanasue...Deana Susan, my sister. She’s an amazing person. Had a stroke at 56. She could no longer walk, read, do math, or speak. Chances of survival, much less progress, were slim. In 7 years, she can now walk with a brace/cane, read some, and speak at about 75% of normal. She’s one tough lady! She didn’t want her pic taken because she didn’t have her hair fixed but I think she looks incredible!

Awww...so sad, but glad she's doing better....tough cookie, indeed!

Finally had a look at this thread, you all look so lovely!

The last photos of me that are anywhere near the type that you're all using are from... 2018? Possibly 2019 too, but basically when I was pretty uncomfortable with myself so maybe I'll be waiting until lockdown ends to get something similar to these shots!

She looks amazing!

As it happens, I was a Speech and Language Therapist and university Clinical Educator. My specialism was strokes and head injuries - I loved working with adults. it was my favourite client group - they all want to get well and work so hard.

As well as being a practising therapist in a hospital, I trained students in practical application of their theoretical knowledge, and seeing young people who came into the clinical situation saying "I want to work with children. I'm just doing this because I HAVE to pass it to get my degree" and then a year later hear them saying - "This was GREAT! Adults are BRILLIANT!" was the best thing ever.

👀 oooh! Are we bringing this back??

It just dropped off the bottom of the first page so it got forgotten.

It's not been here since March...so it's been and come back
