Overnight Marie has developed some black spots all over, but the most prominent ones are on her lip and anal fin. Could it be blackspot disease like bloodparrots get (she is part bloodparrot)? She got a black spot on her dorsal fin last time she laid a batch of eggs and it went away on its own... she doesn't act ill or anything, but I can't help but worry :/
It looks like she has been rolling around in charcoal

... Nevermind I guess. I was gone for the weekend and when I got back, Marie had magically cured herself and is back to her normal clean white-and-orange colour. I have no idea what goes on with that fish sometimes :S :p

That's wierd........

I guess.....GOOD LUCK!
I know midas-bloodparrot hybrids can come in a lot of colours including combinations of orange, black and white, so maybe it's just pigmentation that she can produce at will? She had a couple of black spots last time she laid eggs that went away afterwards... who knows :dunno:
