Hey All,

I have two questions.

1. How old should the fry be before I start giving them away? The first batch is probably at least a month old now?

2. Does giving birth to fry wear out the mother? I have a female and I believe she is the mother of most if not all the fry. She seems to have lost a lot of weight. I would assume that is due to the fry leaving the body. But she also seems rather tired and not overly active. Is this common. Or could it be something else?

Please Help. Thanks

First find a pet shop that will take the fry and then ask then how big they would like the fry to be befor you bring them in. I would have thought at about 2-3 months old.

The mother is usualy tired after every birth and don't be surprised if she doen't eat anything for 24-48 hours after every birth. That due to chemicals and hormones in her body it natural. Putting her in her own tank would be best for at least 24 hours to let her recover and so the males don't hassel her straight after her giving birth. hope this helps
