So i did my weekly water change tonight and since i did it the male red cherries have been darting all around the tank. The females are acting normal just doing their thing but the males are super active. I've read somewhere that if this happens the shrimp aren't happy with the water conditions but wouldn't it affect all the shrimp not just the males? Could it be something else like the females are ready to mate and the males are getting excited?

Yes. Female cherry shrimps emit a pheromone when they are ready to breed, and the males start swimming everywhere looking for her.

Oh well there you go! Awesome hopefully they did the deed and i get little shrimplets!
