Male Or Female?

Here are some shots of Rascal. I pulled her(him?) from my tank to let my new girls adjust and i placed a mirror next to her just to see what happened. Not too much to my surprise, she (he?) flared but has got a biger flare than i've ever seen on a female.

She's got an ovipositor so i figured she was just a VT...but...i donno. I never have been able to tell.

What do you think?

I dunno..... bodyshape I'd go with female, but fins make me think male.
Both of my females have large fins as well though so it's hard to tell.
I'd say female though. *shrugs*

some males have odd anus's but it does look rather ovipositor like to me I think its female

Body shape and ovi are female, I've got an MG female whom I originally bought thinking it was a male and then the ovi dropped, she flared just like your betta and looked lovely. She is currently waiting in a spawning container and has striped up lovely .

I'd go for a female, but the surest way to check is to put her in a container with a male and see if she gets breeding stripes
