Can you help me tell wether these two fish (Jack Dempsey) are male or female. They are always together like they are male and a female but not sure. I have some pictures of them but I am unable to figure out how to paste them to this website if someone can tell me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your help

ya just goto an image hosting website, theres alot of free ones, make an account, then upload ur pics from that site after u have chosen which ones

I say male.

EDIT: Didn't see the second photo. The first one looks male. I can't say for the in the lower left section of the second photo though. If I took a guess I would say female because of the lighter colors. But I'm not sure.

Oh just wondering. That's good. Do you have a full tank shot. What size tank is that anyways?

What size tank? min for all thoose fish is a 75g

also, the unidentified cichlid looks like a african johanni if its the blueish one in one of the pics you posted. this means he really shouldnt be in this tank. as he requires different tank mates, different parameters, and different setups.

have them in a 55 right now but in the process of getting a 125

I would say actually that they both might be a little too young to sex still. But if I had to say (in the pic with the two together), the one on the left is female (color sploches present on the gill plate) and not sure for the second as the typical identifiers are not clearly shown. Maybe male as it looks like the gill plate is almost bare of color spots but to me it looks like the dorsal fin is more female.

Try to get some better pics and how old and big are these fish? For the first few monthes of their lives, it is almost impossible to tell the different sexes
