will it be ok to remove a male krib from his partner after eggs have hatched?

reason I ask is fry have hatched & are out & about in the tank the male has always been protective of the female & there cave chasing away inturders, but since the fry have come out he is chasing the other tank mates round & round the tank stressing them all out

yes it is ok to take him out, but that means double work for the female. but don't put him back in the tank after you have taken him out because he will probably either attack the female or eat the babies. The fry rate will be lower without both parents there to protect the babies.

How big is your tank? What other inhabitants have you got?

You need to have a think about what you're aiming for here. If your tank isn't big enough for the other fish to find somewhere to be away from the breeding pair then perhaps you need to either stop trying to breed Kribs or remove the other fish so you just have the breeding pair.

As Discuslove says, the male is just protecting his family. Remove him and the female is likely to get more aggressive and you're also likely to lose some or all of the babies if she gets freaked out by him disappearing or the other fish taking a fancy to them now the male isn't there to help protect them.

The other option you have is to remove the fry to another tank but your problem will just reoccur as the Kribs will likely try to breed again soon after.

cheers guys, I thought I was doing a favour for a mate rehoming them for a few weeks we joked what if there breed but he said there never had

its a 4ft tank 240ltrs

tank mates angels & bn plecs

The only other thing I can suggest is maybe you need more plants and cover. If the male can't see the other fish then he won't chase them! I'm also not sure about keeping Kribs and Angels together too as that might be part of the problem.
