So my question is, has anyone made there own substrate out of kitty litter and ferts (liquids or dry)?? Say, mix it up before you put it in the tank??
I work at a golf course and I have access to many different dry fertilizers. They are safe to put around the ponds, but I dont know about an aquarium?? Or even just put liquid ferts on it before you put it in the tank??
I have a sand and soil mix, about 50/50 that came from my local creek. I was thinking of putting maybe a 1 1/2 inch of kitty litter mixed with the sand then do like maybe another 1 1/2 inch of just the sand/soil mix on top. Would that work??
I have know idea, I was thinkig the kitty litter would soak it up.... Just thinking before I get my stand. LOL
