This isn't really an emergency because the fish seems fine. But my betta has a lump.
I got him in August, he went into my 50 litre tank with pygmy cories and female endler-guppy hybrids for company. After a couple of weeks I noticed a raised scale as if he'd caught himself on something. I kept a eye on him so I could see straight away if it became infected, but the raised scale has turned into a lump. I have scared myself reading about lymphocystis, so when my older betta died, I moved this one into the 25 litre tank on his own. But as the lump has got bigger, I'm not sure it is lymphocystis.
The fish himself behaves exactly as you would expect a betta to behave. He's active and always hungry.
If anyone could shed any light on what the lump is, I would be very grateful.
Sorry the pics are a bit fuzzy, he wouldn't keep still!
