Ludwigia Palustris Red Pruning...

Hi folks.
I have some Ludwigia Palustris Red. which has grown really fast and is now starting to grow out of the water... i was wondering how i could trim it or even cut the stems as to create more plants for my background as i am really fond of it. thanks. (will post a pic if needed)

If its the stem plant i'm thinking off, just cut below the level of site (if there is any) and the remaning bit will grow a new stem (maybe two if conditions are good) and you can replant the part you cut off too.
