Hi guys,

Decided to do something with the 35L as it's been sitting pretty dormant the last wee while, just been used for growing on swords etc. and for keeping betta happy. So I'm ordering wood just now (sumatra root wood from TGM) and I'm hoping to get a triangle layout. But low tech.

Some tank specs:
Size: 35L
Filtration: Internal. Don't know turnover rates :( Sorry.
Ferts: TPN+
CO2: None, however could dose easycarbo if required. Kinda loses the whole low tech idea though... :p
Lighting: 1 x T8
Substrate: Inert sand

So I'm looking at plants and things, trying to go a little bit further than just the usual suspects of vallis and the likes, but still want something that would grow well. So far have looked at the folllowing, and got a couple of Qs:

Heteranthera Zosterifolia - sufficient lighting?
Alternanthera Roseafolia/Reineckii - I know most alternanthera species are rather demanding, but I think these are slightly less so, if someone could confirm, and also which species would be better? Would be nice to have something a little contrasting :)
Anubias 'nana' - never actually grown this before would you believe so gotta have a go :p
Either Sagittaria Platyphylla or Echinodorus Tenellus - Don't know which would be better of the two?
I also came across Marsilea Hirsuta which I haven't really seen much of. Don't know of its suitability or whatnot as I can't seem to find a lot of info about it. Apparently it's like the "poor mans glosso" as it will grow under lower tech conditions? Might give it a go as an experiment
Also looked at Eleocharis Parvula, but I'm led to believe that this will probably get a bit leggy without the CO2?

That's all I can think of for now lol. Thanks guys :D

Well im sure the anubias nana will grow pretty well its been growing roots like crazy in my tank even with low lights and no dosing, starting to dose flourish excel now and im expecting good results :good:

Egeria densa is an option.
Easy plant, with low requirements.
Grows fast.
