Ok, after my other post about me loosing fish:
http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=139220

I went and bought a master test kit today.

I have carried out the tests and here are the results.

Can people let me know if they are ok or not.
Thanks
Andy

Ph - 7.6
High range PH - 7.8
Amonia - 0.25 ppm (mg/L)
Nitrite - 0 ppm (mg/L)
Nitrate - 10 ppm (mg/L)

you shouldn't have any ammonia in a cycled tank....... :/

nitrate gets kept down by water changes so yeah just the ammonia??????

:good:

is it possible that there is no nitrite when there are ammonia and nitrate?
sorry for being ignorant.

well yeah it's possible but there would have to be a newly set-up tank so ammonia would be occuring with the fish and the nitrate would be from tap water so yeah it can.

thanks for the info...

but Andy had his tank since January?
:shifty:

could be an ammonia spike ??? andy have you added alot of fish recently? been overfeeding? well know you've had deaths so no point in asking.

:good:

You have experienced an ammonia spike, as mentioned.

Save rehoming the fish while you re-cycle the tank, your best course of action is regular, daily 30-40% water changes with daily monitoring of the stats until everything is ok.
By ok, no ammonia and no nitrite.

You will get a nitrite spike after the ammonia goes back to zero.

you people mightbe right...
mini-cycle due to adding some fishes...
let's hear from the Andy.

Ok, i did a 20% water change yesterday and added some tap safe type treatment to the water.

I got in about 30 mins ago to find my male fighter dead, and a female guppy dead, with a cherry barb looking like he wont last long.

What the hell is going on in my tank :(
