Are you a member of a fish club or aquarium society?

We are compiling a list of organizations that our members belong to so that we can spread the word about another way to meet, and share experiences with, other people who enjoy fishkeeping. It will be posted in the near future.

If you are a member of one, please let us know. Send a PM with the following information to BigC (UK, etc.) or me (US) or post it on this thread.

Club Name: (Full Name of Club or Society)
Meetings:(where and when)
Contact Person:(Name Address Telephone & Email where app.)
Website: (If Available)

We would also like to hear about any auctions or special events that your club will be sponsoring or active in. We will be happy to add them to our calender, near the bottom of TFF's Index page. :D

I am a member of both the American Livebearer Association and CAFE.

ALA meets annually at their convention. The next convention is in April 2010 in Detroit Michigan.
The ALA forum website is <a href="http://livebearers.org/index.php" target="_blank">http://livebearers.org/index.php</a>
The next ALA convention is spring of 2010 in Detroit http://www.ala2010.com/

The CAFE, Champaign Area Fish Exchange, meets monthly on the first Saturday of each month at the University of Illinois Plant Science Laboratory building at 7PM
The CAFE website is <a href="http://www.champaignfish.com/about/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.champaignfish.com/about/index.html</a> and contains links to auction information and similar items. We also have a yahoo group established at <a href="http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/champaignurbanafishclub/" target="_blank">http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/champaignurbanafishclub/</a> which is not open to the general public because of the difficulties we have seen with open web sites being trashed. It is primarily for members and for those that one or more of us can vouch for from outside the group. Like most Yahoo groups, it runs more like a mail posting location than a forum.

Our next club auction is in January 2010.

Thanks, OldMan47 :)

I just put the convention and auction information on the calendar and will be adding the other information to the fish club list.

Contact Person: It's probably easiest to contact me through Tropical Fish Forums
Website: http://www.gwasoc.org/

The Green Water Aquarist Society is an all-species, general-interest aquarium society founded in 1957 as a not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting the interests of fish enthusiasts and providing information regarding the care of tropical fish.

Hi OldMan47 :)

That list is somewhat out of date but still worth trying. BigC and I are currently working on updated lists for the US and UK clubs. Watch for them to appear soon. :D

Plenty in Wisconsin, I've been to Milwaukee's auctions several times, good club!
