long distance move of aquarium

Does anyone know how one would go about moving a 130 gal aquarium long distance? Has anyone done this before? What did you do?

I'll be moving about 1,300 miles away. We are getting a company to do this for us but if we get them to crate it for us, it will cost an extra 130.00 ! What's the safest way to do it other than have the company crate it?

Are there any fish in it? You'll have to empty it completely as you will crack it if you try to move it with water....If you can get a truck id just throw it in the back and wrap blankets around it , or something to cushion it...I know i wouldnt pay $130 when i could do it myself....HIH
