Location Of Inlet And Outlet In Tank

I have been assuming that the spray bar should go at the top / back or top right end of the tank and the outtake (going back to the filter) should be bottom left corner however I have just thought that maybe they should be in the same location just top and bottom.

What is the normal / best way?

I'm sort of hoping that it is the original thought as otherwise I'll have to drill some more holes in the cabinet

Also spay bar vs lily pipe - which is best?

As long as the inlet and outlet aren't positioned close together it doesn't matter.

My outlet is bottom right, inlet (spray bar) is top left.

I have no experience of lily pipe.

Good oh, hopefully with the Eheim 2075 in a sub 55 USG tank flow will not be an issue...
