i have sand at the bottom of my tank can i put live plants in my tank or wil the sand not hold them down they r all in wee pots aswell thanks

Not necessarily true...just choose the right easy plants, and try to get lots of them to avoid algae.

Here's a list of good options.

If you go for fast growers, you may need to add fertiliser (but wait and note down the particular signs deficiencies before doing so and deciding which one).

If you go for slow growers, you may get algae on the leaves.

Best solution IMO is to add floatings plants to the tank (fish love them and they are great for the water), and then go for lots of easy low-light plants underneath (as the floating plants will cut down the light reaching the bottom).

I believe (always subject to correction with all the plant experts being here!) that all your plants are meant to be gently removed from the pots and to have the rock-wool removed from around the roots. Those items are meant to protect the roots in transit and are used to make growing easy at the plant farm. Seems to me you have to be very careful when removing the fuzzy rock-wool or you can break the roots, undoing the use of protecting them in the first place. Then you lay them out and cut off the very tips of the roots, just a little bit, with scissors, to promote more root growth (I think that's the main reason.) Then be sure to plant them with just the roots in the substrate and the crown out of the substrate.

trim a couple of cms off the bottom of the roots to promote new growth, remove any dead or dying leaves and if its a stem you can remove any leaves near the bottom of the stem, and then (optional) cut the top off to promote bushier growth.
