Hi freinds brand new 40 gal tank. No fish yet should i put in live plants and which are easy to maintain.?
THANK YOU for your help.

Easy plants that help cycle your tank quickly are
Frogbit
Water Lettuce
Water Sprite
Anacharis
Hornwort
Moneywort
Salvina

All excellent for silent cycling a tank, which believe me is the easiest most stress free way.

Thank you i really apreciate your help. Oh i forgot the bottom of the tank is river pebbles. Is this OK for live plants?

Id say substrate should be grain size of 7mm diameter or less. Anything more wont allow the roots establish themselves. River pebbles to me sounds like theyll be too big.. if you are looking for a river setup then consider epiphytic plants that you attach to wood and rocks:
Anubias
Java fern
Bucephalandra
