The other day I purchased some frozen brine shrimp, my fish went crazy for it.

It is broken up into seperate cubes.

My question is how often do you feed them this kind of food. :dunno:

Just depends on you :) A balanced diet is GREAT  blood worms also ... maybe once a week or more if you prefere ......if you can get frozen brine shrimp you can prbly get other types of worms (lucky you :sly: ) for breeding it is good to have their whole diet based on live foods

Yea, I will be picking up some bloodwoorms later this week.

My fish went bananas for the stuff.

Starting discus tank soon, so I just wanted to get the feel of using live and frozen foods!

I would suggest buying Hikari frozen products.

They are very clean and loaded with vitamins.

I feed all my fish frozen (bloodworms, daphnia) once a weak, and live blackworms once a week also.

It was hikari frozen brine shrimp.

After getting free flakes, I invested in micro pellets, then frozen food this weekend

I feed forzen food to fish like tetras, gouramis and barbs once a week. These food contain a large amount of protein which can cuase fish internal problems if they consume too much in a short period of time. However, i feed my cichlids and black lancer bloodworms 2-3 times a week since they can handle larger amounts of protein and fat in their diet

I gave my fish live food for the first time this week - adult brine shrimp and blood worms. They went crazy for it - and were hunting round the tank for hours afterwards just in case they'd missed one! I think it's got to be good for them, not just nutritionally but also behaviourally (sp?). Mine get flake, freeze dried daphnia and bloodworms and algae wafers, but from their reaction I'm definitely going to add live food at least once or twice a week from now on.

I have no idea, I am sure one of these out here has them.

I just asked about frozen hikari shrimp and bloodworms.

So when you buy them live how do you store them?

I buy a "portion" for $2.50 and pretty much use it all. I keep the bag (filled with O2) in the fridge until later in the night, when the lights are on.

LOL, I live in an apartment, thus I don't have an extra fridge. I draw the line at having a bowl of live worms swimming near the food I eat. -_-

If I get a really large bag, I'll leave the leftovers in a .5 gallon bowl on the window ledge.

Look at the worms before you leave the store. I won't buy them if they aren't clean. Best to find a reliable source and stick with it.
