Little White Worms

i ahve a mbu pufferfish and i have noticed on the glass of my tank a bunch of tiny wite worm like things. I was just wondering if anybody could guide me in the right directon of getting rid of them? Will a teaspoon of tonic salt do the trick or is this in any way harmful to my puffer?

A good gravel vac, caused by over feeding, lack of maintainance and ammonia spike.
