While looking for pictures of planaria for someone in another thread, I came across this site http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/Tank_critters.shtml and about 1/3rd down on the left is a picture of a "critter" I recognized from my own tank. I always thought these were baby snails on the glass but they look exactly like the picture of what are called "Limpets" on that page.

I started Googling and found large clams, etc., that are called Limpets but haven't found too much info on these little 1mm sized things.

They are in my 10G cherry shrimp, plants and snail tank.

Should I worry about them or scrape them off the glass or what?

Limpet snails... Got a few of 'em in my shrimp tank too. I've heard they're very difficult to get rid of, but frankly, mine don't do much harm -- so I just leave them alone. They just help eat the diatoms off my tank glass.

Every now and again, I'll notice a stray limpet snail shell drifting around in the filter current. I think my shrimp might eat them from time to time... They don't seem to take over your tank like ramshorns can, anyway.
