Can i trim Limnophila sessiliflora from the top of the stems when they reach the surface? This works with my Hornwort

You can trim them but they look untidy and usually produce a couple of branches where you cut them.

I prefer to cut them about 8 inches down and plant the cuttings, then let the original plants grow back up.
 
I purchased this to try where a amazon sword wasnt doing to well in my 29g.

Really grown well and covered the space lovely. My fish love it and ive even caught my danios a sleep in it :zz
