would this be ok on my figure of 8 puffers tank or would it blind the poor guys. I'm about to start planting the tank fully following the guides in here and was just wondering weather its worth buying this and suspending it above the tank or am i wasting my time and money thanks james.

Really I'm not an expert but you need to know just how many watts these lights will be putting out, and also their spectrum. I'd be leary about buying anything on e-bay without first having some sort of guarantee about what it is. I only say this because I've been cheated on e-bay before, that seems like an awfuly expensive lighting setup to not have it's output posted prominently on the ad and I'd suspect that they're hoping you won't think to ask.

From reading their item it appears that the T5 products are only supplied with marin bulbs. these will be a higher colour temperature than is ideal for plants and will most likely encourage algae before plants in a brackish set up.
