Hi everyone I have an open top nano 30x30x30cm (12”) tank and I am planting plants in it, medium light and I was wondering what lighting I should get?? Not something too expensive tho. I’m in the UK and the tank is 5uk gallons

I used one of those on a 40 liter cube once it was fine. Put some surface plants in your tank if you think it is too bright.
did it affect the plants at all or anything? like in a bad way?

i don't know whether the brightness matters with plants or if its the wattage like heaters having to have a certain wattage that's why I was wondering cuz it is bright

Light is about intensity and color spectrum. There is no harm in playing with things like this, it is part of the journey. If it is super bright you can always defuse the light with something. Try just having the light on for less time say 6 hours per day.

That's why I like the light in my link - the spectrum.

If the light is bright, as itiwetu said, use floating plants so it's not too bright for the fish.
