Ive recently purchased two 18" tropical arcadia tubes from the net (which should arrive in a few days). Are these lights any good for plants in a 15g? I should have 2wpg right? Will java moss/java fern etc grow well with these lights (No co2, but thinking of also using ferts)?

not really. will make the tank look quite red! Should have gone with arcadia freshwater. (and not origional tropical)

on a better note, java fern and moss should be fine.

Thanks...looks like ive just bought the wrong bulbs. No matter ill sell them on ebay
So two freshwater bulbs for sure? Will these bulbs be good enough to grow most mid-light plants?

did you buy arcadia origional tropical lights?

Btw, if you buy freshwater tubes, they should be good to grow plants in.
