Lighting For 35L 'high Tech'

Recently started dosing TPN+ and Flourish Excel on my 35 litre planted tank and it is running an 8W T5 light. Is this adequate or should i be running something else? Also how long should the light be on for now i am dosing ferts and liquid carbon?
