Well right now I have a few t-8 32 watt light bulbs that have a yellow color to them and need replacing!

anyway.. what bulbs shoudl i add? Marine and auqa glo bulbs? :/ I have 5 slots that can be filled on ther 72 gallon. :/ thoughh three are a decent color already and 2 on the gold fish.
so for the 72 gallon how does this sound..

Auqa-glo, Aqua-glo, Marine Glo, Auqa-glo, Aqua-glo? and then one of each for the goldfish tank?

Is the tank planted? If not, get what you like! The higher the K rating the whiter/bluer the light.

yes it is planted.. that is why I psoted here.. does whiter/bluer light matter?

No the actual colour doesn't matter and is down to personal taste (redder lights tended to highlight the colours of the fish, but give the tank a pinkish tinge), the spectrum of light produced is important though, so be sure to get tubes that are designed for plants, the Arcadia freshwater and interpet daylight plus for example.

the higher the K rating the better right?

Not for plants, the K rating is very misleading and TBH I would forget about it (unless you're interested in having a particular colour) the most important thing it that is produces light that the plants can use. Most don't, that's why you need to get ones that are designed specifically for plants. The higher K rating ones also tend to be for marine tanks as they produce lots of blue light which helps the coral algae grow and they'll do the same to algae in a freshwater tank too!

Arcadia freshwater, interpet tri plus and there are others.
