Light Question

I'm starting my 10 gallon low tech planted aquarium. I was told 24 watt lighting would be good. Now this may be dumb, but I purchased a 2 pack of 25 watt lights. If I use both bulbs does it double the wattage to 50 or is it still 25 watts?

Yes, each bulb works on 25 watts of electricity, so running 2 bulbs would consume 50 watts, but would double your output of light.

ok thanks. so do you guys think 50 watts is too much? Should I return them and get 2 15 watt bulbs instead?
