LFS sold me a 'nameless' snail

Well I had another one of those spontainous purchases when I seen all the new fish and friends at the LFS. I wasn't in the mood the purchase a fish and I noticed they had a few very active, very healthy looking snails. So I questioned the employee and she said that they were 'common' snails and that I should only buy one if my tank had algae in it. Well my tank does have white algae in it but its not planted.

Because the tank is not planted what measures should I take to feed my new snail with the rest of my clan?

Snails will eat anything from fish food(any fish food) to fish (dead ones). They are probably common pond snails and you may find that you have alot very soon.

mine did the same thing...I did the research and it ended up being a ram snail...alot of times its apple snails..hope that did good bye
