LFS in IL ?

Are they any Good all around LFS in Illinois. THe one i go to Scotts's pet shop which isn't that great an they over charge you when i know i can go to somone other place for it cheaper and the fish selection is bigger and healthier fish. i am not sure if we really have many fish places here do we

Illinois (like most states) is pretty big. Where in Illinois are you? If you are in the Chicago area, I go to the Livng Sea Aquarium (it is in Park Ridge) and Old Orchard Aquarium (in Skokie). Google will give addresses for both. Both are staffed by fairly knowledgable people, though sometimes the prices are a little higher than PetSmart/Co but i know I am getting good fish at these two stores.

Old Town Aquarium and Chicago Aquarium and Pond are my 2 favorites.

Living Sea is great, but those 2 are in the city.

I am in the suburbs aroudn chicago like 30-40 minnutes away from me. i a have not heard many fish stores aroudn here but now i know there are. I just for some reason never heard of em thanks for the help

goto i think its ither Naperville or Yorkville around the Fox Valley mall. Theres a petco and a petsmart and some other store i think its caled Little Amazon. You need to be specific on yor town name

I like Scotts because I only visit there every other month. Their fish selection isn't nearly as good as Living Sea in Park Ridge, however, they are cheaper. Living Sea is sometimes pricey but have excellent quality of fish. I'm in the S. Elgin/St. Charles area and Sea Escapes is the best place around here.

Ive heard good things.


BTW My pick for the biggest dump is Animal Kingdom on Milwaukee ave in Chicago. They have had many complaints of animal cruelty. They sell dogs, cats, and have a coyote in a cage. And their tanks are filthy, dead fish in every tank. Always have ich.

I just to buy there when i was a newbie....But all my fish kept dying of white spot..One of them told me it was just how they were....

yup the fox river goes through!

But don't eat anything ou catch from there! The Fox River is in the top 10 mostp poluted river in America
