Our local reef club is just getting started, and each of the sponsors has its own forum on the club to post sales or whatever. One of the members went around and took pictures of 3 of the local stores, but skipped the 150g frag tank at my favorite LFS. So, I went back this morning and took some pics for him. He turned off the metal halides and just had the actinics going.... then turned off the overheads so there was no light pollution from that.

*jaw drops*

WOW... it was AMAZING looking. Anything with green on it glowed like it was radioactive. The zoanthids on some of those rocks were just breathtaking. Unfortunately.... the camera just doesn't do it justice :( These pics look surreal in order to bring out the glow that these corals had. You can probably tell which pic was my favorite. (*hint* it's the BIG one! ;))

LOL, totally agreed opcn. I shouldnt look in the SW section cause evrytime i do i wanna spend more money! :p

I recomend you people dont look at reefcentral.... it would ruin your whole computer! lol

That is a very nice prop system, do you have any idea of what the lighting is?

Off topic......
A question for Opcn. What is your tropical fish market like in Anchorage? I would think it would be hard to get a lot of fish and the one you do get would be expensive. I was just curious.
Sorry to highjack the thread.

Ahhhh....one of these days I have to post some shots of the new tank.

I have to do it soon too. I am trying to figure out a prop tank for myself.
I am gonna start fragging in the next couple weeks and will have about 200 of the little fellows.

Yeah, my tank is that overgrown...

GL

Yes Gl, do take pictures, Although I think getting 200 frags might be cutting them too small, but I digress.

Whip, Feel free to pm any member whit questions like this, most of us will respond :)

WE have a mediocre market here, very few rare fish, very low diversity among cichlids, SW is fairly diverse, not many reef oddballs, that frag tank probably has more diversity than both of my LFS's though :(
