Hello.  As per the title, what the best way to transfer new fish from the QT to the main tank?  I have some fish that are quite nervous in the QT and I would usually net them but not sure if there is a better way so I do not have to chase them round and risk them jumping ship?

I usually prefer to 'tub' fish; by that I mean using something like an old (clean!) ice cream or margarine container. Herd the fish into that with a net or your hand :)

It's also a good method for catching anything 'spiky', like catfish and loaches.

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea.  I guess if I did a big water change before I did that (maybe with water from the main tank?) it would prevent much of the QT water getting into the main tank.

If the fish are healthy enough to transfer to your main tank, you don't need to worry about the water.

Great, thanks for the advice
