Kissing Pearl Gouramis?

I have 2 pearl gouramis. I have had them about 6 weeks. They were about 1 1/2 inches long when I bought them, now they are about 4 inches long. I don't think they are males because they don't have ruby throats. Here's the interesting part. They both go to the top, get mouthfuls of air, then kiss! One day I watched them do it for 2 hours. Are they fighting or just love each other. There are no battles, just kissing. Does anyone have pearl gouramis that do this? I thought only kissing gouramis did this.

i saw these fish at walmart once. I watched them "kiss" for 15 minutes, everone of them did it. The description card below the tank gave their their scientific name and they were nicknamed "kissing Gouramis"

These are pearl gouramis, not kissing gouramis. They are silver and very beautiful. They are sometimes called lace gouramis.
