So, I have had my two angelfish since they were babies (about a year and a half ago) and recently they have started to "kiss"?! Is this normal behaviour?! lol
My angles just spawned the other day. They will lock lips and shake at eachother even do a kind of body slap shimmy. They often fight a little before they spawn. lots of showing off to eachother.
BUT if fins get really messed up and there is LOTS of aggressive chasing they could be fighting and just don't like each other any more.
Yes my angelfish do tend to shimmy near each other! They used to be quite aggressive towards each other as they got older in my old tank, but recently I got a new tank (they love it!) and they seem to do more "shimming" near each other and far less fighting! Could it be?!?! lol
P.S. My male koi is smaller than my female gold pearlscale. But he definitely has the forehead bump. My angels spawned last night but hagrid my bristlenose is something of a caviar expert. Eggs disappear fast in that tank.
My pair don't get along like they did before I messed up their family. Now they eat their own eggs. They no longer work together. I feel so bad about breaking up my pair. Cichlids are strang when it comes to being a pair.
But too males will fight too. it does not mean you have a pair. If you see one get fat even without feeding. Thats a female full of eggs. If you see one clean an area they will stay at a heater or wall even plant and pick at it all the time to keep it clean..
ahhhh... ok. Well they tend to hang around together...not really any fighting. they like to stay under the filter, and in my giant helicopter ornament, away from other fish. i havent noticed them really cleaning but will keep an eye on them!
