I'd like to have some type of cleanup crew for my 55g tank. Current occupants are a JD and a GT. Neither full grown as of yet with the biggest only being 6 inches. This isnt a permanant home as Im having a larger tank custom made. Seeing as you all are the most experienced with cats, would Rapheals be a good addition? I dont want anything that will grow larger then 6 or 7 inches.

Great info pseud, I found it very useful. I guess my question is would they be alright with occupants that can be as aggresive as mine.

I don't really know to be honest, but if I had to hazard a guess I would say yes. The Catfish will mostly lay around all day and hide, so they probably wouldn't even notice him.
I'd wait until someone who knows more about cichlids comes along though...

Not knowing much about cichlids, I do however about the Raphaels. As I said in the other thread - they are extremely shy and I never saw mine in 2 years. Apart from when I bought him and when I checked after 2 years to see if I still had him ! I've had some in the past too, and they've all pretty much been like that. Lovely fish, but be prepared to never see them. In which case I almost doubt that it would be harassed by cichlids.
