Just bought a new

I filled the new filter with water from my old tank and put a little extra in there, but not much. I'm planning on turning this tank into a breeding colony of snails for my dwarf puffers. Do I need to let it cycle before I start throwing snails in there?

well im not too sure about the cycleing part with snails. i would cycle it just incase. if ammonia can kill snails then i would cycle it first. but im not too sure...

Good question there, honestly cant say I have the answer to that. I'm thinking you might get more useful replies in the Invertebrates + Amphibians Forum. It will probably take longer to get a responds though, but worth a try!
