Jbl Aquabase

Hi,
How much jbl aquabase would i need for a 120cm x 40cm tank,
i want to start a planted tank so thinking of capping it off with black sand,
is there any alternatives to the aquabase and is it neccessary,
i dont want to spend a fortune.

Aquabasis +, is a micro under substrate. I have used it a couple of times and am happy with it. It just ensures that uf you under dose your micro fert, it'll keep on top of them for you. You'd need a couple of 10 litre bags, with would come to about 25-30 pounds.
