I dropped a golf ball sized clump of java moss in my aquarium three weeks ago. It sank to the bottom and stayed there.

If you want them to sink you could bind them to rock with strings.

I also have Java Moss and it sinks right away to the bottom.

Ive put some in my middle tank today but attached it to some cholla wood and rock but was thinking it would be nice floating in my smaller tank. Never mind tho, ill think of something else out for that

I used it to make "nest" for the eggs and fry.

It did spread out to about three times it's original size, but stayed hovering on the bottom. Not flat on the bottom, but not floating in the middle or the top, either.
